CellExplorer

A graphical user interface and a standardized pipeline for exploring and classifying single cells acquired using extracellular electrodes, like silicon probes or tetrodes.

3D-printed recoverable microdrives

We have designed a metal microdrive and head cap systems for extracellular recordings in freely moving rodents, which make silicon probes recoverable and reusable. Assembled metal microdrives are available for purchase from 3Dneuro (our production partner).

In the Buzsaki Lab, we created a large database and public data repository with more than a thousand electrophysiological sessions (about 40TB of raw and spike- and LFP-processed data). The datasets are from freely moving rodents and include sleep-task-sleep sessions (3 to 24 hrs continuous recording sessions) in various brain structures, including metadata. The database contains electrophysiological recordings performed in freely moving rats and mice collected by investigators in the Buzsaki Lab over several years (a subset from head-fixed mice).

BrainSTEM

A collaborative electronic lab notebook for experimental neuroscience. It has a customizable web interface built on a flexible data model and functions as an electronic lab notebook that allows for the organization of experiments and raw data. Granular access control enables collaboration within or across labs. The database of metadata can be accessed through either a web interface or REST API. A prototype of this tool has been deployed in the Buzsáki Lab, and a beta version for broad distribution is currently under development.
